Blekko – The New Search Engine [Video via TechCrunch]

Blekko is a different kind of search engine developed by Rick Skrenta and his team, blekko is very different with the existing search engines like Google, Bing.

To make blekko popular they didn’t just make just another search engine but brought lot of special options to users who use blekko, like api’s where in you can search for specific domain like say “gaming /talkonsomething.com” which searches about the games in TOS or “talkonsomething /twitter” which search tweets on talkonsomething.

Twitter adds countdown to say bye to normal authentication for 3rd part apps

If you have developed an 3rd part app for twitter, then this post important for you to read. Twitter team announced that on June 30th they will kill the normal authentication i.e Username & Passwords and only allows you to use OAuth service.

With OAuth service there will be double the security. It is also being said that there will be new policy attached along with this.

Orkut rolls out the Image slideshow feature

Its been long since I posted a tech post in here. So today I am posting about an Orkut Update which will seriously boost their rankings in the category of Social Networking sites. Since the awesome micro-blogging platform Twitter is giving a though competition to Orkut, it might even give a tough fight to Facebook as well. Now Orkut is trying to regain its lost ranks by introducing new features after the complete revamp of it few days ago. Well I had posted about the Promote It feature for promotion of content, videos or images.

Google launches its own Google Public DNS [Domain Name System]

Yesterday Google launched its own Public DNS resolver called “Google Public DNS“. The DNS service is free and can be the best alternative to the current DNS provider.

Google says that its DNS is more faster compared to other DNS and also has more security to protect from any kind of attacks.

Bing Maps get its Street Side a better alternate to Google Street View

If you ever think that Microsoft has made a better and faster search engine than Google ? there is more. Microsoft Bing (Bing Maps) now has a Streetside which is very much similar to Google Map Street View.

The new update has lot more you imagine. The Streetside is developed by photosynth technology (one of the coolest project headed by Microsoft). The photosynth analyzes the images in that area and creates a 3D Model.

Read PDF documents online using pdfmenot

Have you ever thought of facing problems to read a pdf document if you have not installed a software like Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader to read pdf’s you find on web ?? Put a brake,  yesterday evening i was on my friend’s place and HTML 5 Cheat sheet in PDF version bad the bad news was he didn’t have any software to support pdf.

So i made a search using BING and found lots of online readers and converters but the one which made more attracted was “PdfMeNot” the name says it all.

Orkut’s New Interface – Interested In Getting an Invitation ?

Remember Facebook also had changed its design & many liked it too. So now its Orkut’s turn after facebook to heat up the competition in the world of Social Networks. Leave aside Facebook, now it receives about 10 times as much as traffic received by orkut. Twitter too surpassed Orkut’s rankings in the past month.
