Orkut’s New Interface – Interested In Getting an Invitation ?

If you are a Google Lover (Of course many people are) then you would know about the complete rewamp of orkut. This is brought about due to the competition between Orkut & Facebook. Remember Facebook also had changed its design & many liked it too. So now its Orkut’s turn after facebook to heat up the competition in the world of Social Networks. Leave aside Facebook, now it receives about 10 times as much as traffic received by orkut. Twitter too surpassed Orkut’s rankings in the past month.

There is no point in posting all the contents which is posted in the Official Orkut Blog. So I will be including only the main points & their details you can read at Orkut’s Official Blog.

So here are the things which Orkut has worked upon to compete & win the race of rankings with other social networks.

Speedy Browsing

After I got an Invite to orkut’s new interface the first thing that amazed me was that the speed of orkut has been considerably increased. So thats the main advantage where orkut could win as compared to facebook.

User’s Choice OR Personal Choices

The new thing which orkut has added is that you can choose the colours you like the most & make your profile page different from others. There are about 5 colours from which you can choose one which you like the most. Check the above image where I have marked the points up.

A Nice & Optimized Design

This rewamp has brought simple & easy browsing for a user which many will like as compared to the earlier version of orkut. They have implemented the Gmail type feature for loading with a yellow background instead of a plain page which was quite irritating. Also now you get an option to post a comment directly to the status updates of your friends directly from your main page. This feature is the most I liked similar to facebook.

Now, after such a rewamp if you still did’nt like the new orkut then you can always Flip Back to the Older version of orkut as shown in the image.

Here comes the main point which you are eagerly waiting for. See the above image, I have got 4 Invites left out of 10.
