HOW TO RUN CRYSTAL REPORTS IN UBUNTU LINUX

I would like to share a useful information about the usage of crystal reports in linux ubuntu.

After lot of research i would like to post this data.

Usually there is an issue with crystal report application being deployed in ubuntu. It is because of the licensing problems of either mono or visual studio developed .exe application.

So here is a simple way by which you could run crystal reports with minimal features using mysql database.

In windows bye default we have Merge Modules (i.e C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules) installed during the full installation of visual studio 2005.

The following packages should be compulsorily installed

Crystal_Managed2003.msm

Crystal_Database_Access2003.msm

Crystal_Database_Access2003_enu.msm

Crystal_regwiz2003.msm

And then we need to enter the license key while deploying the application in .exe correctly.

Later the following packages would be installed automatically when we run the deployed .net application in ubuntu linux using crossover linux.

And then your crystal report would be generated without any issues.
